Accountability Buddy (the "App", for phone and watch) is made by Dwayne Baines, doing business as AAA Tracker Apps ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and an encrypted password (handled by Google Firebase), and the name you choose to show to a trainer or friend.
- Alarm and goal results: the date, whether you reached your goal or used a free pass, your stake, and your streak.
- Heart rate, movement and steps: read on your watch (or your phone's motion sensors in Phone only mode) while an alarm or daily step goal is running, to tell whether you reached your goal. These readings stay on your watch and phone. We do not send heart rate readings to our server; we store only the result (for example "goal reached").
- Payment method: stored by Braintree (a PayPal service). We keep only a label such as "Visa •••• 4242" or "Venmo @name", and a token Braintree gives us to charge it. We never see your full card number.
- Trainer and friend links: if you join a trainer with their code or accept a friend's challenge, the link between your accounts, the challenge price and days, and your results for it.
- Your choices in the App: settings, looks and backgrounds stay on your phone and watch. A background photo you pick never leaves your phone.
- Website sign-ups: if you join our launch list, ask about being a trainer, or send a partnership request on our website, we keep your email, name and anything you type in, only to reply to you and to tell you when the App launches. Ask us to remove you at any time.
- Family nominations: if you nominate a family on our website, we keep what you send (your name, email and phone, the family's name, contact and story, and any link) only to check the nomination and contact you and the family. We share a family's name, photo or story only if they agree, and we never share your contact details.
How we use it
Only to run the App: your alarms, streaks, free passes, challenges and weekly billing, and to pay trainers and friends their share. We do not sell your data. We never use heart rate or health data for advertising. The App shows no ads.
Who we share it with
- Google Firebase, which hosts our server and accounts.
- Braintree / PayPal, to store your payment method and process charges.
- Your trainer, only if you join one with their code: your name, streak, recent results and goal. You can stop sharing at any time.
- A friend holding you accountable, only if you accept their challenge: your name and whether you met each day's goal. You can end the challenge at any time.
- Partner gyms, only if you tap their deal: that you came from the App (so we can be paid for the referral).
Data is sent over encrypted connections.
Deleting your data
Delete your account in the App (Account → Delete account), or see how to delete your account. We delete your account, results and saved payment method. Records of past charges may be kept as the law requires.
Children
The App is not for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for big changes, tell you in the App.
